The middle-aged couple began attending our church on Sunday nights. Before long, they told me they belonged to a church of another denomination. Why had they started coming to our church? They wantd to hear the Word of God, which their church no longer emphasied.
People in Ezra's time asked him to "bring the book of the law of Moses," which contained the first five books of the Old Testament. They wanted a word from God, and they got it. When Ezra read from the Bible of that day, "the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law" (Neh. 8:3).
What is your attitude toward the Bible? God's Word works and God works through His Word. Be both a hearer and a doer of God's Word.
