

~ JANUARY ~
January 2nd Phil & Marilyn Morris was added to our Church Membership. What a great way to start off the new year!.
January 5th We began the Study of the Book of Mark, with Bro. Terry Mathis bringing the lessons, each Wednesday evening of January.
January 15th We began working on our new kitchen. A small group went over to Anna Heights Baptist Church to see their facilities for ideas.
January 16th Living Proof, a singing group, brought the evening service. Their beautiful music was enjoyed by all.
January 17th We had a good turn out from our church for the Blood Drive
January 29th We hosted a Ham & Bean supper with all the trimmings to raise money for our new building, netting us a total of $1,385.00.
Our Simpson Hornets have been playing Volley Ball each Saturday evening, and doing very well. The games run through January and to the middle of February.
~ FEBRUARY ~
February 6th We had a "Souper Bowl" Service, you needed a can of food as a ticket to get in to the Souper Service.
February 7th WMU meeting
February 13th Our Valentine Banquet was a sweet gathering of food and fellowship
February 27th Our Men enjoyed a Brotherhood Breakfast at the church.
~ MARCH ~
March 6th Bro. Rich began teaching "The Purpose Driven Life" at 9 AM each Sunday Morning.
March 14th Blood Drive, Our Church gave the most pints of blood!
March 18th & 19th Our Church had a New & Used Sale in the Gym, to assist with the new building.
March 19th Bro William took our Youth Group bowling for Youth Week.
March 27th Our Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30, with breakfast to follow. A good turn out.
~ APRIL ~
April 3rd On Mission Celebration began
April 9th Heather Treat Memorial Dinner, a worthwhile local cancer project.
April 17th Julie Bailey presented a concert in the evening, doing an excellent job
April 19th Pastor-Director's VBS Clinic.
~ MAY~
May 1st Dedication of our New Art Murrie Resource Center, at 2 pm, a good crowd attended.
May 3rd Sisterhood Banquet, Our theme was "women wear many hats" so we all made a hat for the occasion. Prizes were given to several categories
May 8th We Honored our Mothers with a special Morning Worship
May 15th Brotherhood Breakfast. The men invited all the members to attend. Those guys really do know how to cook up a good breakfast! yummy
May 21st The ladies of the church served the lunch at an auction sale of one of our church members, and used the money to help furnish our new kitchen at church.
~ JUNE ~
June 5th Annual Homecoming event, lots of food and fellowship.
June 6th Tabatha Meeting, Plans were made for the activities for the rest of the year.
June 11th Usama Dakdok spoke to us on the Muslim Faith. The Youth service was at 6 pm and the ladies service was at
7 pm. Then on Sunday AM Usama spoke on the Infallible Bible.
June 19th We Honored our Fathers with a special Morning Worship
June 18th The Youth had games at the church starting at 6pm, a fun time had by all
~ JULY ~
July 5th Tabitha Meeting
July 7th Bro. William, our Youth Pastor spoke at the Mission Conference
July 10th A Batisizm service was held at the Shoemaker pond. Bro. Matt Snell led the service while Brothers William Barrett and Richard Martin preformed the baptisizm of Jessica Craig, Josh Hering, Lindsey Ingles & Sandra Hall. Everyone brought a dish to share while we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. It was a great day for all of us.
July 22nd VBS Kickoff. Jr. High and High School kids spent evening of 22nd and all day on 23rd, at youth VBS. Some of it was swimming at Lake Glendale. A mixture of learning and fun. Our regular VBS started on the 25th with about 80 kids in attendance, what a good group, and a good VBS.
~ AUGUST ~
August 1st Tabitha Meeting
August 2nd 9 day Trail ride, we were responsible for some homemade ice cream at Cowboy church.
August 3rd Nominating Committee met to select officers for the coming church year.
August 7th Day of Prayer for Students and the evening was topped off with Homemade ice cream social at 6 pm. Lots of good ice cream
August 13th VBS Swim Party at Dixon Springs with wiener roast following . The Teen agers went to Paducah to attend Cast & Crowns. Everyone had a good time
August 27th We held a benefit dinner to raise money for one of our own, Jerry Boney, who has leukemia, the Youth had a car wash at the church also from 4 to 7 pm. Approximately $1500. was raised.
August 28th Jeremy & Tiffany Faulkner joined by letter of faith.
~ SEPTEMBER ~
September 6th Tabitha Meeting
August 7th Wednesday Evening Bible Study we begin the study of Treasure Principles, which will cover the next 6 weeks on Wednesday evening. Several from our church attended the Adults on Mission Fish Fry the Association had at Dixon Springs
State Park, they always have good fish.
September 11th Bro. Terry Mathis spoke on State Missions.
September 13th Bridget Eddington welcomed her new born daughter, Brileigh to the world.
September 24th A group from our church attended the Crossover Evangelism Conference at Brookport.
September 25th Our own Church's annual Fish Fry. Our church has this down to a science, it is so good and ready on time.
~ OCTOBER ~
October 2nd Brotherhood Breakfast was enjoyed by the men of our church before Morning Worship. Kevin Craig joined our church by letter of faith.
October 3rd Tabitha Meeting
October 16th our church gathered at Fern Cliff State Park at 3 pm for fun filled afternoon of fishing, hiking, and a picnic. Everyone brought food to share and we roasted hot dogs and hamburgers there. Bro Rich preached a good message on Love. We had a large crowd and everyone had a wonderful time.
October 21st. Our first Cottage Prayer meeting was at the home of Tim and Debbie Goins. Sweet holy spirit there.
October 28th Cottage Prayer Meeting at Norman & Georgia Lee's home, prayer for our upcoming revival is well underway.
October 29th Our Annual Fall Festival with a chili cook off, the best apple, pecan and pumpkin pies being judged. Also homemade vegetable soup was judged. Needless to say after the contest, we all ate of the many entries.
~ NOVEMBER ~
November 1st. Cottage prayer Meeting at the home of Steve & Pam Shoemaker, praying in earnest for our revival and the lost in the community.
November 2nd Our Revival started and ran through the 6th. Bro. Paul
McGinnis led the services. Music was led by Ben and Jessica. We served a light meal each evening prior to the service, which was appreciated by all.
November 6th As our last night of revival came to a close we praise God for the Salvation He has given us. We have been blessed with 9 new members! joining our church tonight were Tim and Debbie Goins along with their son Cody, Terri & Sarah Woodworth, Tammy Cobb and her daughter Chasity, Kim Hogan and her son Lucas.
It has been a wonderful week full of blessings.
November 9th Our Annual Shoebox Party. We stuffed shoeboxes full of little gifts for Children all over the world during the first 2 weeks of November. These boxes will be taken to the main distribution center on November 14, 2005.
November 19th A group of members got together for a night of bowling and fun in Harrisburg. Bro Rich said he bowled a 290! (His total score for 3 games) Ha Ha! Are we ready for league play yet?
November 20th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, turkey, dressing and all the trimmings,
an excellent crowd attended.
~ DECEMBER ~
December 3rd We served a dinner with the proceeds going toward the African Mission Trip. A good turn out.
December 17th On the 17th we had dress rehearsal of our Christmas program. Our Choir has had practice for the past month for this special event. directed by Jim and Andrea Whiteside.
December 18th Morning Worship Service was a Christmas Presentations from our Youth followed by a special message by our pastor Richard Martin.
December 18th Our Choir and Drama Team presented "God's Great Love" during a lovely candlelight evening meal served to our guests. This is the first time we have done this at Simpson Baptist and it was a great turn out. Many thanks to Jim & Andrea Whiteside along with our Drama Team led by Michelle Martin, and our wonderful kitchen committee who have been so dedicated to doing a great job all year!
December 21st. Our Annual Silent Candlelight Communion Service, a beautiful time for all of us to come together in silent praise of our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.
Happy Birthday to Haylee Mae Craig, weighing in at 6lb 15oz. Daughter of Kevin and Jessica Craig. Congratulations to the proud parents
December 25th A Special Christmas message brought to us by Our Own Richard Martin during our Morning Worship Service.
We had a special prayer service for Bro. Rich, Danny and the Mission team as they prepared to leave on December 28th on Mission to Africa. A prayer chart was signed by everyone to 'bathe them in prayer of protection, and guidance throughout this mission.
December 29th Youth Encounter. Several of our youth traveled to Peoria Illinois with Bro. William Barrett. The kids and adults had a wonderful time
2005 was a great year at Simpson Baptist Church. We saw a slab of concrete turn into a beautiful new fellowship hall for our community to enjoy and gym for our kids. Our Youth ministry has grown along with us this year and we praise the Lord for this.
We welcomed 8 new members through letter and baptized 10 New members.
Many thanks for all those who have worked so hard to make 2005 a successful year here at Simpson Baptist Church.
